Challenger Tour Weekly Preview: More From Tasmania + Action In Brazil

1 August 2023

There are just two events this week on the Challenger Tour as men’s action continues in Tasmania for the City of Devonport Tasmanian Open 2023 which will see 32 players look to capture the Challenger 5 title.

The field of players is very similar to the one last week at the Eastside Open which took place 206km south from this week’s venue. Scotland’s Alasdair Prott took home that title as he overcame Australia’s Dylan Molinaro in a five-game final. Top seed Tomotaka Endo will be hoping for a better showing after he lost out in the third round last week.

Play begins on 2 June from the Devonport Squash Centre with all 32 players featuring in round one.

The second tournament of the week comes from Brazil for the Ponta Lagoa Brazil Open 2023 taking place at the Clube Ponta Lagoa in Ponta Grossa. Brazil No.1 and World No.124 Diego Gobbi occupies top spot in the main draw and will be looking to capture his second PSA title.

All but two of the players in the draw hail from Brazil with Argentina’s Dylan Tymkiw and Paraguay’s Francesco Marcantonio looking to upset the home players.

You can keep up with daily roundups from both events on Facebook and Twitter.
