Colleyville Open: Colombia’s Mathias Knudsen Claims First PSA Title In Texas

Colombia’s Mathias Knudsen was handed his first PSA title at the Lifetime Colleyville Open yesterday after his final opponent Syan Singh was forced to withdraw before the match had started.

Knudsen reached the final by beating No.2 seed Sebastien Salazar in a comfortable three games, 11-3, 11-5, 11-3 after the Mexican endured a brutal quarter final clash. Singh also competed his semi-final win in straight games over Bermuda’s Taylor Carrick. It took the Canadian just 28 minutes to overcome the 21-year-old and reach the final.

However, with the exciting final all set, Singh was forced to withdraw from the match, much to the home crowd’s disappointment and hand Knudsen a first PSA title.
