Weekend RoundUp: Sandhu and Nunn lift South Australian Open Titles

10 July 2017

India’s World No.77 Harinder Pal Sing Sandhu and Australia’s World No.98 Christine Nunn lifted the men and women’s titles at the South Australian Open Squash over the weekend.

Sandhu faced Australia’s World No.137 Rhys Dowling in the final after only dropping one game en route to the final.

The Indian claimed the first game 11-8 before having to battle from 1-7 down in the second game to win 12-10 before comfortably seeing out victory in the third to claim his third successive PSA World Tour title after victories at the Malaysian Squash Tour IX and 2nd Nissan Open Squash Championships.

In the women’s final, Nunn – who did not drop a game throughout the entire tournament – faced fellow Australian Lisa Camilleri as she claimed an impressive 11-4, 11-6, 11-2 victory in 23 minutes to lift her first title since 2015 when she won the City of Devonport Tasmanian Open.
