Challenger Tour Weekly Preview: Life Time Johns Creek Open

18 July 2023

The Life Time John Creeks Open is the only Challenger Tour event on the calendar this week as 24 men look to capture the Challenger 10 title in Georgia.

Pakistan’s Muhammad Asim Khan is the top seed for the event. The World No.66 was a beaten finalist in two events last season as well as featuring in two Platinum events, the Egyptian Open and U.S. Open. Khan will be looking to start strongly as he will face either England’s Nick Sutcliffe or Mexico’s Carlos Vargas in round two.

Egypt’s Ibrahim Elkabbani is the No.2 seed for the event and will be hopeful of capturing his fourth PSA title this week. The Egyptian will be up against either compatriot Mahmoud Abouelleil or Pakistan’s Ashan Ayaz in his opening match after receiving a round one bye.

Colombia’s Andres Herrera is the No.4 seed and will be looking to regain his form that took him to the final of the Tour de Las Americas ECP Open 2023, where he lost out to rising star Rowan Damming in a tight five game final.

No.3 seed Argentine Jeremias Azana will also be looking to recapture form that took him to a final recently as he lost out to compatriot Leandro Romiglio in the Tour de las Americas – Paraguay Open 2023 final after claiming some impressive wins on route.

Play starts on Wednesday 19th July with 8 exciting round one clashes. For daily updates on the event, follow the PSA Challenger Tour on Facebook and Twitter.
