Ayman and Tsukue Named June PSA Challenger Tour Players of the Month

3 July 2023

Egypt’s Kenzy Ayman and Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsukue have been named as the June PSA Challenger Tour Players of the Month after both impressively picked up titles in the month.

Ayman entered the Champion Fiberglass Women’s Open 2023 as the No.1 seed but in a field full of quality, claiming the win wasn’t going to be easy. Ayman had to overcome three compatriots on her way to the final, beating Men Hamed 3-2 in the semi-final proving to be the most difficult.

She then faced home favourite Marina Stefanoni for the title. The pair had never met before on the PSA Tour and it was the Egyptian who started the better and lead 2-0. Despite the American clawing a game back, Ayman pushed on in the fourth game to close the game out 12-10 and capture her fourth title.

Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsukue has been in fine form of late, winning his only event in May in great style. He then moved onto the Heroes Austrian Open which took place in Graz. The Japanese No.1 was the No.6 seed for the event and after defeating Daniel Mekbib, scored an impressive win over India’s Abhay Singh to reach the semi-finals.

The World No.61 didn’t drop a single game from there as he beat Israel’s Daniel Poleschuk 3-0 and then Czech’s Viktor Brytus in a 26-minute final.
