Challenger Tour Weekly Preview: Lone Event In Canada

The action returns to the Challenger Tour this week, with a single event in Canada, as the Tour resumes after eight days without any action.

So far this month, Abhay Singh and Amina Orfi were victorious at the 4th HCL SRFI Indian Tour – Delhi, with England’s Charlie Lee claiming the E.M Noll Classic.

That victory for the Englishman in Philadelphia was the last action on the Challenger Tour, until this week. The Expression Networks BVAC Women’s Open will take place in Canada, starting on Monday afternoon.

Here is what takes place on Tour this week…

Expression Networks BVAC Women’s Open
The lone event on the calendar this week on the Challenger Tour will be the Expression Networks BVAC Women’s Open, which will take place alongside the Bronze level Oxford Properties Canadian Men’s Open Presented by Airsprint Private Aviation.

Both events will be held at the Bow Valley Athletic Club in Calgary, Canada, with the action getting underway on Monday, February 13. The women’s Challenger 10 level competition will feature 24-strong draw.

Frenchwoman Enora Villard will be the top seed, and she will be joined by compatriot Marie Stephan among the seeds. Nicole Bunyan will be the leading Canadian, which the Oceanic trio of Sarah Cardwell, Kaitlyn Watts and Alex Haydon will all be in the top eight seeds.

Bunyan will be one of nine Canadians in action on home soil, with the likes of art Khan, Hannah Guthrie and Niki Shemirani all in action. Action from the quarter finals onwards will be streamed live on the Challenger Tour YouTube channel.
