England’s Georgina Kennedy Withdraws from Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open

World No.9 Georgina Kennedy has unfortunately been forced to withdraw from the upcoming Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open.

Kennedy has been experiencing ongoing health issues which also forced her out of the U.S. Open earlier in the season. She also has said in an Instagram post that she will be finished for the year and will look to be back and ready to compete in the new year.

Egypt’s Salma Hany replaces Kennedy as the No.8 seed and, after receiving a bye in round one, will face either compatriot Yathreb Adel or Australia’s Sarah Cardwell.

Malaysia’s Low Wee Wern replaces Salma Hany as a 9/16 seed and will play Hong Kong’s Tsz-Wing Tong or Egypt’s Salma Eltayeb in the second round. Whilst, Scotland’s Georgia Adderely moves to a 17/32 seed and sets up a match with Tessa ter Sluis from The Netherlands and Malaysia’s Aira Azman moves into the draw and will play Spain’s Cristina Gomez for a place in round two.
