Nour El Tayeb vs Joelle King

The head-to-head stats between Nour El Tayeb and Joelle King

It will be the 11th time Nour El Tayeb and Joelle King have met on the PSA World Tour when they face off in the women’s final of the MARIGOLD Singapore Open.

El Tayeb edges the head-to-head between the pair with six wins to King’s four, and it was the Egyptian who came out on top in their previous clash when they met at the Carol Weymuller Open in 2020.

El Tayeb’s route to the final saw her defeat Aifa Azman and Rowan Elaraby in straight sets in round two and the quarter-final, respectively, before overcoming Amanda Sobhy in the last four to secure a place in the decider.

King, who arrived in Singapore off the back of lifting the Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Open on home soil, had also notched straight set victories in round two and the last eight, defeating Hollie Naughton and Tinne Gilis.

The New Zealand No.1 faced a stern test in the semi-final to progress, as the 34-year-old prevailed in a five-game thriller with Sabrina Sobhy.

Can King make it successive title wins or will El Tayeb scoop her second win of the season after landing the CIB Zed Squash Open back in August?

Mohamed ElShorbagy vs Diego Elias

The head-to-head stats between Mohamed ElShorbagy and Diego Elias

It’s a rematch of the Necker Mauritius Open 2022 as World No.3 Mohamed ElShorbagy goes head-to-head with World No.5 Diego Elias.

Both players have five wins each from their 10 previous encounters, with Elias victorious the last time they met at the U.S. Open in the semi-finals – the tournament the Peruvian Puma won.

ElShorbagy, who’s reached his fourth final of the season so far, didn’t drop a game in his round two and quarter-final matches against Raphael Kandra and Tarek Momen, respectively, and he saw off Joel Makin 3-1 in the semi-final on Saturday.

It was a similar path for Elias into the final, beating Moustafa El Sirty and Mazen Hesham 3-0 in round two and the quarter-final, respectively, and then defeating Mostafa Asal in the semi-final whose match was cut short following an injury retirement.

Who will claim a sixth victory over the other and bag another piece of silverware?
