Mostafa Asal Back to World No.3 in PSA Men’s World Rankings

After his Grasshopper Cup victory yesterday, Egypt’s Mostafa Asal is back at World No.3 in a much-changed top 20 in the PSA Men’s Rankings .

Here’s our look at the most notable men’s movers of the week, as of Monday October 24.

Asal is back to winning ways after a troubled start to the season. The 21-year-old picked up his first title of the season yesterday with a 3-0 win over Egyptian compatriot Marwan ElShorbagy at the Gold-level Grasshopper Cup, where he was No.3 seed.

New Ranking: 6

Previous Ranking: 7

Despite a defeat in the Grasshopper Cup final, Marwan ElShorbagy is continuing to climb the rankings. ‘The Jackal’ has been in imperious form at the beginning of the season, with the 29-year-old reaching the final of the Open de France de Squash, the Oracle NetSuite Open and the Grasshopper Cup.

Fares Dessouky

New Ranking: No.8

Previous Ranking: No.10

Egypt’s Fares Dessouky has jumped two places in the latest PSA Men’s Rankings after reaching the semi-final of the Grasshopper Cup.

Victor Crouin

New Ranking: No.10

Previous Ranking: No.11

After briefly dropping out of the top ten, France’s Victor Crouin is back to his joint highest ever ranking. The 23-year-old is playing the Robertson Lodges New Zealand Open, the MARIGOLD Singapore Squash Open and the Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open in November, so will be targeting an even higher ranking soon.

Omar Mosaad

New Ranking: No.20

Previous Ranking: No.22

Egypt’s former World No.3 Omar Mosaad is back inside the top 20 of the PSA Men’s Rankings for the first time since October 2021.

Shahjahan Khan

New Ranking: No.25

Previous Ranking: No.26

The USA’s Shahjahan Khan has continued to make steady progress through the rankings and is now at a career best of World No.25
