PSA Renews Broadcast Deal with BT Sport

6 October 2022

The Professional Squash Association (PSA) has renewed its multi-year partnership with BT Sport which will see the broadcaster remain the PSA’s Official British Broadcast Partner.

BT Sport, one of the biggest sports broadcasters in the United Kingdom, has televised live action from the sport’s most prestigious tournaments – including the showpiece PSA World Championships as well as the majority of PSA World Tour Platinum events and the PSA World Tour Finals – since 2015.

This latest renewal – brokered by Infront, the PSA’s strategic commercial partner – will see the partnership between the two organisations extend to over a decade, giving UK-based squash fans further opportunity to watch the world’s greatest players in action at some of the most iconic sporting destinations across the globe, such as the Great Pyramid of Giza in Cairo, Egypt and Grand Central Terminal in New York.

“We are delighted to renew our partnership with BT Sport and are thankful for their continued commitment to the sport,” said PSA Chief Operating Officer Lee Beachill.

“Since the beginning of our partnership in 2015, we have worked closely with BT Sport to broadcast our incredible athletes to our passionate audience in the United Kingdom.

“Together with BT Sport, we have also taken advantage of growing technological trends to help drive the sport forward, notably becoming the first racket sport to be broadcast in UltraHD. We look forward to continuing and enhancing our relationship with BT Sport in the coming seasons.”

Rachel Knight, Sports Rights Director, BT Sport, said: “It’s fantastic news for squash fans that we are continuing our long-term partnership with the PSA and that they will be able to continue watching all of the top-flight action live on BT Sport.”

Infront Vice President Media, Betting & Technology Amikam Kranz said: “BT Sport has been the home of top-class squash for many years and we are delighted to have facilitated the continuation of this partnership. The sport has a dedicated following in the UK and the fact we’ve been able to reach this agreement is a proof point of the sport’s appeal in a key market.”

In addition to the live action, BT Sport also shows extended tournament highlights to enhance their coverage of the PSA World Tour.
