Qatar Classic D3 & SW Women’s Open D1: How To Watch Live

6 September 2022

We don’t just have the one tournament today, but we have two live events on SQUASHTV, and that will be the same for the next five days!

The QTerminals Qatar Classic continues at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, while the South Western Women’s Open gets underway at the Houston Squash Club in the United States later today.

We are down to the last 16 in Doha, with the eight third round matches being split across today and tomorrow, meaning there are four matches on the all-glass centre court in Doha today.

Egypt’s Marwan ElShorbagy will get things underway against US No.1 Shahjahan Khan, before older brother Mohamed, a three-time Qatar Classic champion, takes on last month’s CIB Zed Squash Open winner, Youssef Soliman.

World No.1 Ali Farag then takes to the court for the first time this week, following his walkover win against Cesar Salazar in the second round. The Egyptian will face Colombia’s Miguel Rodriguez in what promises to be an entertaining clash. The night’s action will end with a repeat fo the Canary Wharf Classic final, between Fares Dessouky, the man who won that day, and World No.3 Mostafa Asal.

Order of Play: Round Three – QTerminals Qatar Classic

Almost immediately after the conclusion of today’s play in Doha, attention will turn to the Houston Squash Club, for the opening day of the inaugural South Western Women’s Open. The venue hosted the Houston Open men’s Gold level tournament in January, with this being the women’s edition of the tournament, the first of such a level in Texas.

An all-Hong Kong battle will kick off the day’s play, with Ka Yi Lee taking on Tomato Ho for a spot in the second round. There will also be an all-English contest between Lucy Beecroft and Jasmine Hutton, along with two all-Egyptian battles.

The tournament wildcard, Fayrouz Aboelkheir, will take on Hana Ramadan in the last match of the evening’s play, with Nour Aboulmakarim and Sana Ibrahim having done battle earlier on in the day.

There will be three Americans in action on the first day in Houston as well. Sabrina Sobhy will take on Finland’s Emilia Soini, before Olivia Clyne faces Latvian No.1 Ineta Mackevica. Haley Mendez will be the last American on court on day one, taking on Egypt’s Nadine Shahin.
