Egyptian Duo Youssef Soliman & Nour El Tayeb Named PSA World Tour Players of the Month For August

The recent CIB Zed Open winners Youssef Soliman & Nour El Tayeb have been named has the August PSA World Tour Players of the Month. 

25-year-old Soliman produced a near-perfect display in the opening World Tour tournament of the season. Not only did he win the event, but he did it without dropping a single game en route to the title. His athleticism was unmatched throughout the event as he moved effortlessly around the court absorbing pressure and counterattacking his opponents to great effect. 

The win was his first title on the tour since 2018 and earned him a five-place rise in the latest PSA world rankings as he moved from World No.17 to World No.12 and with the form he showed last week, will no doubt be knocking on the door for a place in the top 10.

Nour El Tayeb was the No.2 seed in the women’s CIB Zed Open and comfortably made her way through to the final after three 3-0 wins over tricky opponents. She then overcame compatriot Salma Hany in a four-game final to lift her first title since becoming a mother for the first time.

Like Soliman, her movement looked strong and sharp throughout and her mix of structured straight play and devastating attacks made her a force to be reckoned with on the all-glass court at Zed Park. The win also moved El Tayeb up to World No.8 in the latest rankings as she looks to make a charge towards the top players in the world.
