PSA board of directors

The Professional Squash Association (PSA) is the global governing body responsible for the administration of both men’s and women’s professional squash around the world.

With over 1,400 registered players and over 600 events taking place across the globe every year, the PSA Squash Tour and the PSA Challenger Events are both managed and run by the PSA and showcases the game of squash at its highest level in some of the world’s most unique and stunning locations.

Overseeing the PSA are the Board of Directors, headed by chairman Ziad Al-Turki alongside Women’s President Sarah-Jane Perry and Men’s President Saurav Ghosal.

CHAIRMAN

Ziad Al-Turki was elected Chairman of the PSA in 2008 and, under his stewardship, the organisation has seen exponential growth. A Saudi-Arabian businessman with a wealth of experience, Al-Turki has helped elevate the sport to new heights.

Saurav Ghosal
MEN’S PRESIDENT

Saurav Ghosal, who became the first Indian player to claim a place in the world’s top 10 during the 2018-19 campaign, has taken over from Egypt’s World No.1 Ali Farag as the Men’s President. Ghosal has established himself as India’s finest ever male player and has 10 PSA titles to his name

Sarah-Jane Perry
WOMEN’S PRESIDENT

Perry has been a serial title winner since first joining the tour in 2007 and is one of the world’s leading players. A Commonwealth Games silver medallist, Perry has been at the forefront of women’s squash for a number of years and has enjoyed a career-high ranking of No.5, as well as title wins at the prestigious Oracle NetSuite Open in San Francisco.

John Nimick
BOARD MEMBER

Nimick has strong expertise in squash, sports and entertainment marketing having forged a successful playing career during the 1980s. Nimick served as a PSA Executive Director between 1994-1999 and has contributed to more than 40 PSA World Tour events over the last 20 years, including PSA World Series tournaments such as the Tournament of Champions and US Open.

Ahmad Bassam
BOARD MEMBER

A former squash coach and tournament manager at the highly-regarded Wadi Degla Clubs in Egypt, Ahmad Bassam has a wealth of experience working in the sports management and information technology sectors.

Ashley Bernhard
BOARD MEMBER

Ashley Bernhard served as Deputy Chairman of the PSA between 2015-2017 and has pioneered the Tournament of Champions Women’s Squash Leadership Programme in addition to chairing the prestigious Carol Weymuller Open for a number of years.

Mohamed ElShorbagy

Mohamed ElShorbagy joined the PSA Board in December 2023. The Englishman is one of the most decorated players in the history of the sport and has spent 216 weeks at World No.1 in his career, picking up 49 PSA titles since his debut in 2006.

Amanda Sobhy

Amanda Sobhy joined the PSA Board in December 2023. She is the most successful American-born player of all time and reached a career-high ranking of World No.3 in 2021, while she has won 20 PSA titles to date in her 15-year career.
