Fiberglass Open Qualifying Underway

The first qualifying round of the Champion Fiberglass Open, PSA M10 event got underway with all eight seeded players easing through to the next round.
Number one seed Leandro Romiglio defeated the United States’ Dylan Cunningham with a 3-1 success. The Argentine went 2-0 up after a good start to the clash and, despite a resurgence of sorts from Cunningham in the third game, stayed strong to complete a 12-10, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5 triumph.
He will meet fellow South American Diego Gobbi in the final round of qualifying after the Brazilian blitzed past Chris Laporte.
Amaad Fareed will join the pair in the next round thanks to his victory against Charlie Johnson. The Pakistani World No.149 showed impressive court craft to unsettle his opponent and progress with a 3-1 triumph. Anthony Graham awaits the second seed after the Englishman’s straight games win against Jahanzaib Khan.
Faraz Khan defeated Karim Ebrahim in three while Clinton Leeuw ensured he will face him with a 3-0 defeat of Mark Broekman in the first qualifying round.
Aibert Shoihet and Cameron Stafford meanwhile will face off in the final qualifying round after Shoihet received a walkover against Atif Siddique and Stafford bested Abbas Maniar.
