Leung into Malaysian Tour Main Draw

Hong Kong’s Henry Leung moved into the main draw of the Malaysian Tour Squash VII, PSA M5 tournament with a commanding 3-0 victory over second seed Gurshan Singh in the final round of qualifying.

The 20-year-old was sublime throughout the match, using his speed around court to great effect as he sought to create openings in the early stages. The World No.323 continued his dominance into games two and three to secure an 11-8, 11-5, 11-8 triumph.

He will go up against Addeen Idrake in the first round of the main draw with the Malaysian looking to make a sterling start on home soil.

Top qualifying seed Ahsan Ayaz will join Leung in the next round after claiming a 3-1 victory against Bryan Lim Tze Kang. Ayaz, who hails from Peshawar, Pakistan, has the distinction of facing the main draw’s number one seed James Huang for a place in the quarter-final.

Ong Sai Hung progressed to the main draw after defeating Raja Adam in four games. Compatriot Muhammad Hannan will meet him there in an all-Malaysian first round fixture.

The other qualifier to compete in the main draw action is Tsun Hei Yuen whose comfortable win over Ahmed Mohamed sees him through to line up against Elvinn Kleo.
