Home hope Joshua Larkin kept up his title ambitions with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over tournament favourite Tayyab Aslam in the semi-final of the City of Greater Bendigo International, PSA M5 event.

The first game between the pair was incredibly tight with Larkin just edging it before a resurgent Aslam battled back to ensure parity heading into the third game. The next two games were played at frenetic pace with both players taking a game apiece. A highly charged fifth game followed where Larkin, buoyed on by the Australian crowd, engineered enough breathing space to take the victory with an 11-9, 7-11, 12-10, 9-11, 11-8 scoreline.

Joel Makin goes on to meet Larkin in the final after achieving his first ever PSA World Tour final berth in Australia thanks to a straight games victory over Indian teenager Kush Kumar.

The Welshman exploded into action from the outset to record an impressive 11-7, 11-9, 11-6 victory to set up an enthralling showpiece finale.
