Line Hansen and Joshana Chinappa will meet in the final of the Victorian Open, PSA W15 tournament after prevailing in their respective clashes with Siyoli Waters and Christine Nunn in the semi-final stage of the event.

After a difficult encounter against Amanda Landers-Murphy in the previous round, Hansen had another testing tie on her hands against the South African Waters. The Dane narrowly navigated the first two games courtesy of the tie-break before pulling away in the third to secure the victory,

“I’m very happy to have won today,” said Hansen.

“The first two matches were really close and it was quite crucial that I won them. I always enjoy playing Siyoli. She is one of the nicest and fairest players on the tour.

“I’m looking forward to the final tomorrow. It should be a good match against Joshana. I beat her last weekend at the Kooyong event but she beat me in Malaysia last time.”

Meanwhile, Chinappa went up against Nunn in her clash after the latter had disposed of the number one seed Rachael Grinham in the quarter-final.

Chinappa played incredibly well despite her opponent playing in front of her home crowd and the Indian National Champion pressed on to take the match in three games to move on to the showpiece event.
