Haycocks Homes in on Quarter-Final Berth in Australia

Top seed Jaymie Haycocks has kept up his charge for his first PSA World Tour title since 2013 after besting Connor Sheen in round two of the City of Devenport Tasmanian Open, PSA M5 tournament.

The Englishman was in fine form throughout the encounter, taking control of the match from the outset and romping to victory over his compatriot in straight games.

World No.71 Haycocks will do battle with Manuel Wanner in the quarter-final thanks to the Swiss star’s hard-fought victory over Joel Luca.

Robert Downer also progresses after defeating Jesse Youd and meets Sean Conroy after the Irishman delighted spectators with a titanic victory over Mithran Selvaratnam.

Indian teenager Kush Kumar mowed down Rohan Toole and Thomas Calvert saw off Majeed Hussain to ensure that the duo will meet in the next round. Chris van der Salm and Martin Svec will also meet in the last eight after respective wins over Sam Gould and Karim Amer with Svec mounting a two-game comeback to force the victory.
