2nd Squash Inn Classic Preview: Fuller Excited To Play In Mexico City

26 May 2022

The 2nd Squash Inn Classic – Sponsored by Faltami will be the first of two tournaments being held on the Challenger Tour this week, with the Challenger 3 level men’s event taking place in Mexico City from Thursday, May 26 to Sunday, May 29.

A pair of home favourites, in Alejandro Reyes and Miled Zarazua, will lead the draw as the top two seeds, and will both be aiming to take their first Tour titles, and to do so on home soil. They will be joined in the top four seeds by compatriot Allan Nunez and Guatemala’s Alejandro Enriquez.

Egypt’s Karim Elbarbary, Colombia’s Andres Villamizar, England’s Chris Fuller and another Mexican, in Rodolfo Vega, will make up the rest of the top eight seeds for the competition, with Colombia’s Nicolas Serna and Englishman Nick Sutcliffe making up the rest of the non-Mexican challengers for the event.

We spoke to Fuller, this week’s No.7 seed, prior to the tournament starting, and he is looking forward to playing in a new part of the world, especially at this time in his career.

“I am really looking forward to competing in the upcoming 2nd Squash Inn Classic,” Fuller admitted.

“At this stage of my career, it is not every week that I get the opportunity to visit and compete in a new location and I am excited to experience Mexico City for the first time.

“Playing at altitude will definitely create an additional challenge, but I have been training well and I am hoping for a successful week.”

The event takes place from Thursday, May 26 to Sunday, May 29 at the Squash Inn Club in Mexico City. Follow the PSA Challenger Tour on *Twitter* and *Facebook* for daily updates from the event.
