Charlottesville Open 2024: Preview

23 September 2024

The Charlottesville Open 2024 gets underway tomorrow, the third Copper level event of the season. The action gets underway at 15:00 (GMT-7) across two courts at Boars Head Resort with action from the glass court streamed live on the PSA Live Streaming YouTube channel.

England’s Nick Wall is the top seed for the event and defending champion. The Sheffield man will be looking to score his first event win since the win here in 2023 and his 10th PSA title. He’ll face the winner of Joseph White or Ben Smith after receiving a round one bye.

At the bottom of the draw, Egypt’s Yahya Elnawasany is the No.2 seed. The 22-year-old will take on either Muhammad Asim Khan or Diego Gobbi in day two as he looks to kickstart his 24/25 season at this event.

Action on day one will be hard fought with only eight places in round two available but 16 players battling for those positions. Sanjay Jeeva versus Finnlay Withington is set to be an entertaining affair with plenty of skill on show, with he winner set to face Japan’s No.6 seed Ryunosuke Tsukue.
